Un bello momento cinematográfico

Carrera para los Oscar 2009

La Warner ha comenzado la puja por las nominaciones al Oscar y su punta de lanza es su anuncio para que se nomine como Mejor Actor de Reparto al fallecidoHeath Ledger por su papel de Jocker en The Dark Knight.

Justo a un mes de que se cierren las pre-nominaciones (diciembre 26) y dos de que se anuncien, ¿es válido que nominen a Leadger?, al parecer la Warner cuenta con que así sea pues aparte de que se haría historia con el hecho de que se nomine una película de fantasía (ejemplo 2001: A Space Odisey no tuvo mas que nominaciones técnicas); la academia tiene una visión muy cerrada en cuanto a este género, sin embargo deben de considerar que de aquí al 2012 como mínimo, los veranos pues se planean tener entre tres y cinco palículas de fantasía (casi todas de superhéroes) y hay que dar ciertas concesiones; pero definitivamente habrá que esperar a que cambie el Status Quio de los señores de la Academia.

Lo que esta definido son los precandidatos con los que "compite"; Michael Shannon por Revolutionary Road, Philip Seymour Hoffman (otra vez y para no variar) por Duda, John Malkovich (por cuarta ocasión) por Changeling, Ralph Fiennes (por tercera ocasión) por La Duquesa, Brad Pitt (tambien dos veces nominado y mi favorito personal) por Burn After Reading y Robert Downey, Jr. por Tropic Thunder.

La verdad, ni a cual irle, los que he visto son impresionantes y los que no, reconozco ampliamente sus dotes actorales así que, esperemos

Lost, Fifth Season, dos trailers

Esta nueva versión del personaje de Osamu Tezuka (dios del manga Japonés) esta realizada en 3d, esperemos que la hagan bien pues el manga original no es para niños, si para adolecentes y adultos, a ver si no hacen lo que hicieron con Teenage Mutant Turtles (pd.- lean los manga, son muy buenos)
Se estrena en Octobre 23 del 2009.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

Se7en es una película cumbre en mi educación cinematográfica además de ser una de las cumbres de mi generación junto con Fight Club, ambas del mismo director, David Fincher; pero aceptemoslo, sus películas son en cierto punto efectivistas, a excepción de la última, Zodiac, la cual es cinematograficamente muy superior a toda su filmografía junta.

En diciembre sale su última película, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, una daptación del cuento de F. Scott Fitzgerald a cerca de un hombre que comienza a rejuvenecer sin causa aparente; Eric Roth (The Insider, Forrest Gump, The Good Shepard) lo adapta. Benjamin Button lo encarnará Brad Pitt que busca su segunda Nominación al Oscar, También actia Kate Blanchet (que no sería de extrañar que le den otro nominación) y Tilda Swinton.

Acaban de sacar el Trailer 2 y los dos posters.

The Wrestler Trailer

Darren Aronofski hace cosas extrañas (Pi, Requiem por un sueño y La fuente) y al parecer se menciona que por primera vez estará en la linea de los Oscar con esta película, también se menciona que Mickey Rourke puede ser nominado, después de Sin City, soy fan de Rourke aunque sea un borracho más en el mundo (también lo era Bukouski y también soy fan).

Trailers para el fin de año

Revolutionary Road:
Después de Titanic, vuelven Kate Winslet y Leonardo DiCaprio, pero en esta ocasión los dirigue Sam Mendes (American Beauty, Road To Perdition, Jarhead), es muy probable que el resultado sea de aceptable a bueno, al menos va a estar un 99% menos melosa que la anterior vez que lo vimos juntos, lo cual no es muy dificil de lograr.


Star Trek:
Dirigida por el Creador de Lost (y director de Mission Impossible 3) J. J. Abrahams; reparto de lujo, se estrena en Mayo 8 y al parecer va dirigido a un público menos Trikkie y más adulto, esperemos que sea cierto.


Dragon Ball:
Lista para estrenarse en junio de 2008, el cinefotógrafos son dos, el de Heroe y el 300, se nota la foto del segundo, a ver que resulta.


Terminator 4: Salvation
Otra para el verano, la poco probable que sea buena Terminator 4, si cabría alguna duda será por el trabajo de Christian bale, pero quien sabe.

Waltz with Bashir

Esta película animada es escrita y dirigida por Ari Folman (Saint Clara, Made in Israel) ha sido todo un fenómeno, nominada a la Palma de Oro en Cannes 2008 y LA ganadora indiscutible en el Israel Film Academy Festival con seis premios incluyendo mejor película.

Narra la propia historia del director mezclando los horrores del pasado cuando sirvió como soldado de infantería y el presente cuando intenta, él y sus compañeros, lidiar con esos acontecimientos junto con un psiquiatra y un reportero quienes tienen el mismo problema existencial. La película tiene una animación estupenda pero la mayor fuerza de la película radica en el guión original y en la expresividad de los personajes e innova en la estructura pues realmente se trata de un documental animado, cuestión nunca utilizada para un largometraje.



La estrenan en Diciembre en los Estados Unidos y aca la estrenaron en el Festival de Morelia, por lo que es casi seguro que lo repliquen en el Foro de la Cineteca o en el FICCO.

Fanboys

No creo verla pero el chiste de William Shatner me hizo reír por más de 5 minutos, el de la rivalidad entre Star Wars y los Trikkies tambien esta super, pero el otro es lo mejor que he visto en trailers:

Rumbo a los Oscares

De finales de noviembre hasta mediados de enero se esatrán presentando las cartas fuertes para entrar a las competencias de los Oscares 2009, aquí los avances de las más probables:
Podrían competir nuevamanete como mejor actor y mejor actriz: Philip Seymour Hoffman y Meryl Streep (no es como que nada nuevo para ninguno y mucho menos para ella que como reloj cada año la nominan juntando ya 14 veces y dos premios); también puede estar entre las nominadas de mejor película y mejor Guión adpatado por el director / escritor John Patrick Shanley (basado en su propia obra de teatro)


Revolutionary Road; dirigido por Sam Mendes y con las actuaciones de Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet suena a otra nominación multiple pero de eso a que ganen algo estará por verse; mientras que si espero verlos alejados de sus papeles en la insufrible Titanic:


Defiance: Dirigido por Edward Zwick quien después de Blood Diamonds quiere auqnue sea la Nominación y con Daniel Craig que ya anunció que después de 007: Quantum of Solace dejará de ser Bond, pero mientras hizo esta película de la Segunda Guerra Mundial y ya sabemos como les encanta a los de la Academia esa temática

Arte Conceptual de War Machine

Todos lo vimos y sufrimos un par de segundos pues creímos que iban a echar a perder la primera entrega de Iron Man con el chiste de sacar a War Machine de la nada, por suerte solo fue un chiste local con el que nos reímos yo y como tres personas más en el cine; pero ya esta listo para salir en la segunda parte y ya hasta liberaron el conceptual art:

El actor tampoco será el mismo pues Terence Howard salió del proyecto y en su lugar entra el dos veces nominado al Oscar Don Cheadle, el cambio puede ser bueno pero aceptemoslo... queremso ver a Iron Man juntando a los futuros Avengers, aunque personalmente quiero verlo hasta las chanclas de alcohol pues siguen prometiendo presentar parte de la saga en que se vuelve alcohólico; esto es una buena pista de eso, viene en el DVD spacial edition:

Ojalá y mejore pues ya esta por terminarse la serie; y por suerte los Productores y el creador mismo J.J. Abrahams han desmentido el que existan planes para una película basada en la serie, todo bien en isla perdida.

La verdad estan muy buenos

Lo último de Eastwood (delante de las Cámaras)

Ya lo anunció y es muy probable que lo cumpla; Clint Eastwood dejará su rol como actor para dedicarse exclusivamente a al Dirección que tantos premios y elogios le ha traído; la última oportunidad de verlo en pantalla encarnando a un tipo duro vendrá este fin de año con Gran Torino que narra la historia de un amargado veterano de guerra de Korea de nombre Walt Kowalski en su intento de reformar a su vecino, un adolecente de la tibu Hmong (originaria de la zona de Vietnam), quien trata de rober la poseción más preciada de Kowalski: Su Gran Torino 1972.

La dirigue él mismo y se ve que es otra película en la tónica de Harry Callahan, pero si alguien puede reinventarse a si mismo y a su papel es Eastwood; aquí el Trailer:

Además este año se aventó también dos películas al mismo tiempo; ambas se hablan de ir directamente a las nominaciones; también se estrenan en diciembre; Eastwood es bien chido:

La verdad me muero por verla y ya se habla de su septima nominación al Oscar pues la competencia esta dada desde el 1o de Noviembre para esto.
